Round 1 2009 Club Series - 17 May 2009
Round 1 of the 2009 Club Championships took place at the Nudgee track on May 17. A good rollup of riders and plenty of fun in the dirt. There was great racing all day plus a few good crashes! #9 Steve New was the first to hit the dirt, leaving #090 Brad Van Barrelo no where to go but straight in to him. The best of them all though, was on the first corner after the start - cut off by another rider Adam Richards went down followed by #112 Gary Semmens, #789 Michael Vandenbroek hit the corner just as this happened, and as much as he tried to avoid it, he ran straight over Gary's head and landed right in the middle of it all. They all walked away, and after being checked out by the medic Gary was given the ok, but walked away with the new title of Mr Traction.
